General House Rules

  • Times
    • Check In Time – 15h00
    • Check Out Time – 10h00
    • Please stick to these times unless you have a special arrangement with the hostess.
  • Keys – don’t wait for us when you are ready to check out, you are welcome to leave the keys in the door of the unit. We will collect this later.
  • Windows – Could you please open your windows regularly so that fresh air can circulate through the unit. This will help prevent dampness and ugly smells.
  • Respect everybody and everything around you.
  • Quiet time – after 10pm no loud music or partying.
  • Keep noise levels moderate to not disturb others. THIS IS NOT A FUNCTION VENUE. We aim to have our guest experience the peaceful, tranquil atmosphere and surroundings.
  • No Smoking inside the units.
  • NO DRUGS or HUBBLY BUBBLIES allowed on the premises.
  • No sleepovers allowed from friends or family. In case you would like someone to sleep over, you have to make an arrangement with the hostess and it will be at an extra cost.
  • Maintenance – Please don’t try to fix anything, but let us know immediately if something is not working or needs attention, so that we can try and fix this for you as soon as possible.
  • The Yard maintenance – During your stay you will find us busy with washing, maintenance and garden work. We pride ourselves in maintaining everything at a high standard and are always in the process of upgrading to ensure that your experience will even be greater the next time you visit The Yard.
  • Fireplace – Never leave your fire place unattended.
  • Fire Extinguishers – please familiarize yourself with the placing of the fire extinguishers.
  • Please note the posters on the wall for EMERGENCY NUMBERS and the EMERGENCY EVACUATION PLAN.

HELP US SAVE RESOURCES

 

  • Water & Electricity – please use sparingly.
  • Towels – Please keep your unused towels rolled up and the used ones open in the bathroom, so that we know which ones to wash.
  • Washing Lines – Do not hang wet clothing or towels over anything made of wood. This will spoil the wood and soil the towel. Please use the washing lines provided at each unit.
  • Linen – Your bedding will always be crispy clean, but sometimes  not ironed because of a saving of electricity.  The washing is done with a bio-degradable soap that is non-allergenic.  Rain water are used and all of this goes back into the garden.
  • Geyser – each unit has a separate geyser and most of them are controlled by a Geyserwise unit. We will appreciate if you can regulate your geyser by switching it on 1 to 2 hours before you want to take a shower.
  • Lights – please switch off lights when not using the room. Especially see that the outside lights are switched off at night when you are going to bed.
  • Aircon – Please don’t leave the aircon on while the doors/windows are wide open OR if there is no one in the unit.
