PET FRIENDLY TIPS TO GET INVITED BACK

    • Pet Friendly Booking Basics: Book your stay in advance and confirm the amount of pets.
    • Honesty About Size and Breed: Be truthful about your pet’s size and breed. Our hedges are 1 meter high, so if your dog can jump over this, it is maybe not a good place to book. We are currently upgrading one of our units with a higher fence, so please check if this unit is available if you need it.
    • No Sneaking In: Respect the rules. Don’t sneak in any pets without communicating it with your host.
    • Furniture: We prefer no pets on our furniture. In case you would like to allow your pets on the furniture an extra cleaning fee of R1000 will be charged. Please arrange this beforehand with the host. If the deposit for this has not been paid and we find any pets on the furniture a R2000 penalty will be charged.
    • Unsupervised pets : A. We don’t encourage that you leave your pets when you go out since we are not a kennel. But if you have to leave them, they can NEVER be locked inside the unit. All our units are fenced in, so if they are small or medium size, they should not be able to break out.
    • Unsupervised pets : B. Many times they bark continuously because they miss you. Remember they are in a new strange environment and they will get anxious without their owners. This place extra stress on the owner and staff since they have to handle the complaints from the other guests and neighbours.
    • Pack Pet Essentials: Bring your own water and food bowls to avoid using inappropriate containers. Check with the host, we can provide bowls if you forgot yours.
    • Accidents Happen: Be prepared for accidents. Bring Pet Enzyme Odor Cleaner to handle any messes and maintain a clean environment.
    • Leash Etiquette: Follow leash rules diligently. Keep your dog leashed in public areas and respect designated off-leash spaces. It’s advised to pack an extra collar and leash. Murphy’s Law says a leash or collar can break.
    • The Scoop on Poop: Always clean up after your dog, inside or outside. Carry poop bags and know where waste disposal areas are located.
    • Clean and Flea-Free: Ensure your pup is clean and flea-free before embarking on your journey. A well-groomed pooch is a happy guest.
    • Bring Familiar Comfort: Pack your dog’s bed and clean blankets to provide a comforting, familiar scent during your stay.
    • Own Up to Damages: Honesty is key. If your pet causes any damage, report it and cover the costs. It’s responsible and respectful.
    • Bath Time Courtesy: If your pup needs a bath, use your own towels or ask for designated pet towels. Inquire about a special bathing area if needed. DO NOT USE THE BATH IN THE UNIT FOR WASHING YOUR PET.
    • Polite Pet Behaviour: Ensure your dog is well-trained. Excessive barking or growling can disrupt others’ experiences. Socialization and obedience classes can help your furry friend adapt to new surroundings.
    • Pet friendly bedding: We usually have white bedding on our beds, but we prefer to use our pet-friendly (colourful) bedding when you bring your pets along.
    • No scratching on doors: We know that your dogs will get pretty excited when there is someone knocking on your door, but please refrain them from scratching on inside or outside of any doors.
    • The owners reserves the right: to check on the premises at any time if they see/suspect that the rules are not being honored.

    Follow these simple guidelines and make sure you and your pup are invited back! Although we are pet friendly, we also have guests that are not necessarily pet friends. Be mindful of this and respect their space as much as you require them to respect yours and your pup’s.
